I’m on a mission to bust myths about my crazy industry.
Way back in 1998 I walked into a staffing agency for a job interview, dressed up in a polyester knockoff suit and shaking like a leaf. I just wanted to be a receptionist, maybe get into some kind of admin work. Anything would be better than chasing toddlers in my preschool teacher gig. Little did I know recruiting would grab ahold of me and never let go.
Fast forward more than 20 years – I’ve been a big tech recruiter in the greater Seattle area (Microsoft / Google / Amazon) since 2013. I’ve devoted countless hours to creating free content all about empowering job seekers so they can land their next role faster and with less frustration.

My Career
I love recruiting. I love everything about it – the good, the bad, the downright unbelievable. It’s hard, sometimes thankless work – but every now and again, I get to change someone’s life.
My Passion Project
In 2020, I started a weekly YouTube video series – AMA Friday with Amy Miller, Recruiting in Yoga Pants. Every week I tackle a new topic with the sole purpose of demystifying recruiting.
My Life
Yes, recruiters are people too! My husband John (affectionately known around here as The Dude), my kiddos, and my dogs are my world. NONE of this is possible without their support!
